teaching

To Seek a Newer World, my custom social psych text from the Noba Project, can be found free online here or ordered physically here.

Past, present, or future students should feel free to get in touch! Prospective students are also welcome to drop me a line or check out feedback from previous students. Instructors curious about Skepticism & Scientific Thinking: Defense Against the Pseudosciences or other courses or materials should also feel free to contact me.

research interests

My primary research interests are in the area of social relationships, social support, and their associations with physical and psychological health (especially in terms of chronic disease risk). I’m particularly interested in online social environments and interactions. Topic areas have historically included cardiovascular disease and cancer; most current work is in the area of type 1 diabetes.

A secondary research area is in proenvironmental attitudes and behaviors. Topic areas include commuter behavior choices and recycling.

Opportunities to work on proenvironmental research may also be available. Contact me for details.

For past students who no longer get my Canvas announcements, I curate a list of opportunities and job postings that come across my desk.
